(Grade) ranch gelding that went through my program. We aged him at 12 coming 13. Others say his mouth shows closer to 15. On the way to his new home, what I can only describe as every "sight-unseen buyer's nightmare" happened, and the hauler hit a deer. Upon arrival, this guy unloaded, lame. But alas, in good business, it becomes my wound to repair, and to do the animal right.

After extensive vetting back home, it was confirmed he has a severe strain in his deep digital flexor tendon, consistent with bracing upon impact. There is no broken bones, but yes, his x-rays did find boney changes as well in his front feet. Upon blocking with my performance vet, it was determined that is not the cause of his lameness.

He is already healing nicely with complete stall rest, but is not 100%. We are expecting another 2-3 months of rest. This guy is a point, shoot, go, total sweetheart. I'd put anybody on his back. He'd be a fantastic lesson horse, or trail mount in the future. I'd pass him along with vet records to somebody looking for a companion and pleasure riding horse. After the soft tissues is healed, he may need some added help of equioxx or similar with regular riding.

I am renting my farm out, and hoping to do some "spring cleaning" to my feed bill. If he doesn't sale, he will remain here until healed. I have a 10+ minute long video of him when he sound, and I originally sold him. Just want him to go where he is appreciated. I get too emotionally bound into these ordeals. Pricing at minimum to ensure he goes somewhere right.
