Staff Accountant

Spherion is looking for an experienced Staff Accountant who will be responsible for maintaining financial records and generating reports to document the corporate financial performance of the properties. The Staff Accountant is responsible to maintain procedures and methods for AP/AR, General Ledger Entry, Monthly Reports, Recording Rent payments and will be accountable to help the company provide excellent customer service to internal and external customers.

Salary $45-76k/year DOE

Responsibilities:

- Prepare tax returns for individuals, partnerships, trusts, and S and C corporations

- Prepare extensions

- Prepare tax projections

- Prepare accurate tax work papers

- Conduct tax research

- Make journal entries for year-end close including bank reconciliation

- Generate a trial balance and financial statements

- Respond to IRS and state tax notices

- Communicate with clients to obtain necessary information for tax return completion

- Prepare financial reports

- Budgeting and Forecasting

Requirements:

-Bachelors degree in Accounting

-CPA preferred

-Proficiency in both general and accounting-related computer software

-Well organized with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail

-Must be able to manage multiple deadlines and prioritize assignments

-Strong verbal and written communication skills

-Ability to work calmly and effectively under pressure

-Ability to work well in a team environment
