Description

The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundation is seeking a seasonal part-time Maintenance Coordinator for our Riverboat and Pontoon cruise and charter operation at the Landing, Bismarck, ND.

The part-time Maintenance Coordinator will be trained to be knowledgeable about The Fort Abraham Lincoln Foundations cruise/charter operations. The successful candidate will work up to 10 hours per week observing, inspecting, repairing, and maintaining our vessels. The successful candidate will ride on cruises to diagnose or address issues. The part-time Maintenance Coordinator may be called on to address or assist with mechanical issues 7 days per week. This position will report to the General Manager.

Requirements

Minimum of 2 years advanced working knowledge of diesel engines

Basic understanding of pipefitting, plumbing and fluid flow control

Ability to diagnose engine, generator or other mechanical issues and troubleshoot them while underway

Owns and uses own hand tools and power tools

Responsibilities

Responsible for monitoring the Engines and Generators and all other operating equipment

Making rounds of all outside spaces while on duty and recording deficiencies in the engine room logbook and reporting findings to the Captain

Routinely inspect all areas of the vessel and dock for unsafe conditions, needed repairs, and implementing solutions, documents findings and reports to Captain and General Manager or Operations Manager

Perform routine maintenance and repairs as directed by the General Manager or Operations Manager

Oversee the installation and repair of systems and equipment onboard by outside contractors.

Acts as the Laison for outside contractors and monitors their work and documents details in logbook

Arrange fuel and water orders, documents details in Logbook

Arrange waste water removal and document in Logbook

Procures materials needed to repair marine equipment and machinery

Participate in all safety drills and training

Ensures that all Safety Equipment is present and in good working order

Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

High School Diploma or GED required

Must be able to effectively understand and convey written and verbal information

Must possess a service orientation Actively looking for ways to help

May be required to work on major holidays, weekends and evenings

Must pass a pre-employment drug and alcohol screening

About the Opportunity

Starting hourly of $28- $33 (depending on experience)
