Description: This position performs technical duties in support of the Industrial Pretreatment Program.

Major job duties include:

Conducts facilities inspections to ensure compliance with codes and ordinances; inspects pretreatment devices, grease interceptors and other components to insure proper operation and installation; identifies instances of non-compliance and issue notifications; conduct follow-up inspections; coordinates further enforcement actions as needed.

Collects water and wastewater samples using EPA approved methods and chain-of-custody procedures.

Records, logs and documents all inspection activities, deficiencies, and corrections, updates industrial waste survey.

Develops and delivers presentations to business, contractors and the public on industrial pretreatment policies and procedures.

Conducts laboratory analysis of samples and records results.

Performs related duties.

Qualifications

Knowledge and level of competency commonly associated with completion of specialized training in the field of work, in addition to basic skills typically associated with a high school education.

Sufficient experience to understand the basic principles relevant to the major duties of the position, usually associated with the completion of an apprenticeship/internship or having had a similar position for one to two years.

Possession of or ability to readily obtain a valid drivers license issued by the State of North Dakota for the type of vehicle or equipment operated.
